Online Subscriptions
Once the backend and the CMS were complete, it became time to design the new dynamic site. Various elements were to be featured on the main page: the beginning of an article from the current issue of the newsletter, Rudy Maxa's whereabouts, a photograph, four current deals, etc. Billfrog.com wrote modules for each of these elements so that they would automatically pull appropriate content from the database. For instance, the main page randomly chooses a photograph from all photographs in the database, and it chooses four deals at random from the database, making sure today's date is between the beginning and end date for each deal chosen. Similar methods apply to all the elements of the main page so that each time a user visits the site, it appears slightly different. These elements were arranged in a few mock-ups of the site before SavTrav Productions settled on a final site design:
Now that a lyout was chosen, all that remained was for billfrog.com to build out all the pages for each type of content, and create an online subscription form. |
